Divergent By Design with Dr Kimberly Douglass, Ph.D., 4 week class
Divergent by Design is a one-to-one independent study with Dr Kimberly Douglass. She has over 21 years of experience in adult learning. Dr Douglass believes the most effective adult learning experiences are student-centered and relationship-based. “I want to know what you are interested in feeling and imagining, as much as I want to know what you are interested in thinking and doing.”
This guided study experience will help you name your design thinking skills and begin putting those skills to work in organized ways. This learning experience is structured to deliver certain outcomes but flexible enough to offer you personalized learning.
Work one-on-one with Dr Douglass to identify your unique design thinking and bring your ideas to life.
You are a Design Thinker
Systems thinkers, pattern readers and problem solvers who enjoy learning independently, with support from a highly skilled guide, gather here. I am inviting you into the world of design thinking. You belong here. We need you here. You are one of the many design thinkers who is being left out of very important conversations about the kind of world we want to design intentionally.
Your design thinking (and doing) skills matter in big and small ways. When you look around, you see rapid and even scary changes in our environment. If you are a systems thinker, pattern reader and/or problem solver, you have more agency to affect this environment than you have thought in the past. Even if you have never labeled yourself a designer, if you think about how processes, experiences, or objects might work better for yourself or for others, you have been design thinking.
